time for school, time for school

Well, school has been a success for Mr. Joel so far. He gets excited when he sees the bus, and even says "Bus! Bus!". We've had quite a few adventures lately, so bear with me while I sort through a few:

Last week I ended up hospitalized for valley ever. Long story short, my insurance wouldn't cover the medications or tests necessary to treat it correctly. I ended up having a CT scan, which told us that the infection had created two nodules on my lung. After having trouble breathing and coughing and what not I finally just went into the ER. I spent the night, got the one antibiotic my insurance had been denying, and have been feeling great ever since.

Rob's been working in the ER, so I had the kids by myself at church this Sunday. We were doing pretty well through sacrament meeting until Joel started acting up while he was sitting on my lap. I leaned down and whispered "Honey, shhh. We have to think of Jesus." Joel then yelled "WHYYYYYYYYY?" and threw his head backward, catching me in the teeth. I handed him off to some friends to go get his wiggles out in the hall and handed the baby to our seatmate while I ran off to clean up the blood gushing from my mouth. Unfortunately I tripped right over Charlotte's car seat, and I went flying in the aisle. It was hilarious, and once I got to the bathroom to clean up the blood I just sat there and laughed for a few minutes.

We have our ward campout this week, so Rob and I decided we would practice camping with the kids. We went out in the yard in our big new tent. Our error came when we showed Joel just how fun it was to bounce on the air mattress that wasn't all the way inflated. For the next three hours Joel launched himself into Rob and laughed hysterically. We all had a good time until Joel socked Rob in the eye and gave me a bloody nose. Charlotte figured out how to roll off the air mattress and get stuck in between the mattress and the edge of the tent and thought she was so funny. we made it until about 11:30, called it a night and laughed as Joel ran around his room for an hour. So exciting!

Now that preschool is going and we have somewhat a routine going. Of course, that will change in about a week, when Rob has the week off. Ah, what fun,

Oh the adventures in Winter-land! Glad you are feeling better at least! And I know the feeling about being alone with two kids in Sacrament meeting-- ridiculously hard! : )

Poor bloody face in church and a fall to boot, man, what a day! You're kids are adorable! Love the 4th of July pics and Joel sliding into the swimming pool, so fun! Happy Birthday big guy, wow, school is a BIG deal, I think I'd get emotional too. Hope he loves it!
