and the living is easy

Hmmm, three weeks since my last post. Well, it's ending summertime for us and we've been busy having fun. Actually, that's not true. We've been trying to have fun, but I've been super sick with a kidney infection, bronchitis, and pneumonia the past week or so. I guess no one ever said being sick is fun. Hopefully I'll get feeling better soon.

Updates on us all:
Joel: is starting preschool soon! His birthday is September 5th, so he starts probably that week. My little buddy going to school, on a bus, for half a day.... it makes me so nervous. But we're excited for him to learn lots of new things and make friends. He's headed to the district's developmental preschool, and I have a feeling he'll keep the teachers busy! He's still a skinny little guy, in fact today I ended up buying the same diaper size for him and Charlotte. Hey, if that package can handle 16 lbs-26 lbs then that covers both kids. Score!

Charlotte:
Turns 6 months old in a few days. And boy, does she act it. The girl just wants to do everything her bog brother can do.... she sits up almost by herself and is a rolling maniac. She's really close to scooting, and smiles and laughs for us all the time. At times, she is more verbal than Joel which just cracks me up. She's been eating baby food for a few weeks now and devours it-- she practically feeds herself with the spoon in an attempt to get even more food in faster.

Rob:
Rob's currently doing an Endocrinology rotation that he enjoys. He spends alot of time with diabetic patients adjusting insulin plans and such. His rotation plans are mostly set for the next few months, and he's beginning to apply to residency programs, which is just like medical school applications all over again-- in fact he just finished his essay after weeks of  weeks of tweaking it. He's also done great with the house and kids while I've been sick and apathetic, three cheers for that guy!

Me:
Well, like I said, I'm recovering. I've been taking photos all summer and just realized how many there are-- so that's a fun project. Once I get feeling better I'm excited to get back to the gym and get a routine going again-- with Joel in school and Charlotte in the gym day care I may actually be able to be consistent. Let's see, here's a funny story about me: The other night I started walking in my sleep to the bathroom. I kept spinning in circles and Rob asked what I was doing. I told him I couldn't find the bathroom, because I couldn't open my eyes. He then told me to open my eyes, and I acted like it was this huge miracle-- I can see! Yup, I'm weird, especially on medication.

Hope your back to school plans are going well- here in Arizona everyone has been back in school for a few weeks now! It's nuts!
