swing low, sweet patio swing

When Rob and I were dating, and even before we were dating, we loved to go to Wal-mart and swing on the patio swings in the lawn and garden swings. It became our ritual every time we went out. When we were married and living in Grandma Winter's basement, we seriously considered buying a patio swing in place of a couch. But, of course, practicality won out and we bought a couch.

For the past 5 years, I have been searching for the perfect patio swing. It had to be one that was comfortable, that would recline into a flat swing, and it had to be extremely cheap. Well, on Saturday we found our swing as an early Father's Day present for Rob!

Joel was especially thrilled about this purchase, on the way home he kept touching the box and saying "Wow!". When we got home, I tried to put Joel down for a nap so that Rob would be able to put together the swing in peace. I should have known better- Joel saw Rob dragging in the box and freaked out when he realized he wouldn't be able to "help".

I love this picture of him and the screwdriver.

And here's a little video of how helpful he is. Rob and I got such a kick out of how excited he was. At one point, he went to explore the big box. After the box shut on him, he screamed, got out, and stomped the box flat, like he was teaching it a lesson. Cracked me up.
