Winnemucca?

On Saturday afternoon, I was doing what Pregnant Kristen does best: sleeping. Taking a four-hour nap, to be precise. My phone rings and I grapple for it, since Rob isn't here for me to order around (I believe he was doing laundry, so he was already being my slave). It's Brad, my brother-in-law, and he's talking very fast.

Brad: "I need you to get on the internet and find me a hotel in Winnemucca."
Me: still half asleep "Hello?"
Brad: "Kristen, do you have the internet? I need a hotel room. Well, actually, two...."

My mind is racing trying to wake up and figure out what on earth is going on. Because according to my brain, Brad left with his fiancee's family on a road trip this morning at 3 am. I'm pretty sure that I shouldn't just book Brad and his fiancee a room, that would be bad...Surely the family had hotel rooms set up....Wait...why is he calling again?

Brad: "Kristen! Here's someone with a credit card number. Hang on."
Me: "Hello?"

Needless to say, it took me awhile to figure out I wasn't dreaming. I helped Brad find two hotel rooms in Winnemucca (try spelling that when you've just woken up!). And then he told me the whole story, that he'd left with the family but their car had broken down, that they had had to make a trip back to Ogden to pick up another car, and that now they needed somewhere to stay since they weren't going to make it on time to their original destination.

Which would have been fine if I had been awake. As it is, I'm hoping I really did get them two room in Winnemucaa and not two rooms in Winnipeg.
